“I feel that if we were a Spock-like species — you know, if we came from the planet of Vulcan and we only did those things that made logical sense, I feel that we would not have prevailed. It is only by virtue of our capacity to allow our minds to freely roam the landscape of imaginative possibility that we are able to innovate in the ways that we have.”
Brian Greene, professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University

True!
Solomon Durkwa,
It made sense to me.
Makes a lot of sense.
williamrablan,
Same here!
I believe that its true…
Me, too.
That’s an interesting quote and concept, Mike. Einstein said something similar about the imagination: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.” That said, sometimes our lack of logic and illogical imaginations get us into trouble. Lol.
Diana,
It’s a tightrope act, for sure!
Got to love Spock LLAP 🖖
I am beginning to realize how much emotion is tied to our humanity. As a Stoic and someone who tries hard to process everything rationally (a la Spock), I also see that without emotional connections to others, we can’t truly understand their thoughts, beliefs, or behaviors.
It’s a balancing act for sure.
Just wonderful, Mike!
Jennie,
It was something I had to share. Thanks for the comment!
I’m glad you did! Best to you, Mike.
