“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of the birds, the ebb and flow of the tides, the folded bud ready for the spring. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter.”
Rachel Carson, The Sense of Wonder
Such loving and appreciative words that compliment the miracle of nature.

Her impact is most notable in reference with today’s ecological studies. A tribute well-shared. ☕️☕️

A fantastic quote, and thank you for posting it. I’m grateful for people like Rachel Carson to write such celebrations of nature. I live in Silver Spring, Maryland, and in town there is a small memorial park dedicated to her. She lived in Silver Spring for several years.

Carson was remarkable. I admire her fluent, unpretentious style of writing. Reading her is like having a conversation.
