“Civilized man is in danger of losing all contact with the world of instinct — a danger that is still further increased by his living an urban existence in what seems to be a purely man-made environment. This loss of instinct is largely responsible for the pathological condition of contemporary culture.” Carl Jung
According to Norse mythology, all Nine Realms of the cosmos either hung from its branches, or else grew from its massive roots. As the source of cosmic structure, Yggdrasil commanded enormous respect. The Norse revered it as the giver and taker of life and order.
I have to say, I’m instinct is one of my best attributes. Great words.

Tales,
Yes, our instincts/emotions are part of who we are. Many have forgotten that.

Umph, I thought that world was long gone – went away with manners, common sense and patriotism.

GP,
We’re pretty far gone, but I still see glimmers of actual humanity here and there.

Human is nature, but we’ve forgotten over the centuries. Living as part of nature, like the Vikings, is in the Nordic blood. We were heathens for a very long time, and now we embrace Lutheranism but mostly as traditions to celebrate. We walk, bike and are in nature, in rain and snow. I’m grateful to be nature. 💚
